WARNING: IF YOU ARE EVER IN A RIOT SITUATION, DON'T DO WHAT I DID...

In chapter 13, Lu Bu, smarting from a recent asswhuppin' from Cao Cao, flees to Xuzhou, now under the governance of Liu Bei. I know what you're thinking. "OH MY GAWD! Lu Bu and Liu Bei together! Like, on the same team?!" Yes. I know, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei were just fighting with the guy a few chapters ago. But apparently, ancient chinese nobles, much like modern professional wrestling fans, and for that matter, the American electorate, don't seem to have much of a memory. So the answer is, yes. For the time being, at least, Liu Bei and Lu Bu are on the same team.

One person who seemed to have a surprisingly good memory was Zhang Fei. But, since he was a drunken asshole, no one took him all that seriously. Zhang Fei remembered Lu Bu very well, and disliked him in the present every bit as much as he disliked him in the past. And so, that lucky dog, Cao Cao, once again ends up getting some breathing room. Liu Bei and Lu Bu cannot ever fully join forces as long as Zhang Fei stands there screwing up the process...

But let's not forget about Li Jue and Guo Si, who, having in chapters past, seized control of Liu Xian, Emperor of the Han, and his court, have spent several years trying their damnedest to fit into Dong Zhuo's considerably large iron gauntlets. You know, the massive iron gauntlets that he ruled the Empire with...

But power's kinda weird, sometimes. There's more than enough of it that it should be able to be shared. But when someone gets a taste of it, they don't really wish to share it with anyone. So it is that Li Jue and Guo Si, perhaps lending some inspiration to the Highlander series, decide that there can be only one. And the plot, much like a stew to which has been added some corn starch, begins to thicken...

Oh yeah, throw in a little bit of a rebellion, as Li Jue's officer, Yang Feng, rises up against his Master. This would not be all that big a deal if it weren't for Yang Feng's star henchman, Xu Huang. Xu Huang's a badass, I'll admit, and he'll go on to play a big part in the fortunes of the Wei Kingdoms later in the novel.

Who will win in this great struggle between Li Jue and Guo Si? What will become of the Empire? What will become of the Emperor, the Sun of Heaven Himself? Guess you'd better go ahead and listen to this chapter to find out, huh?
