    Brookhaven Underwriting Grants

This page is dedicated to the various Underwriting Grants (read as "fake commercials") I've made during the Brookhaven Chronicles' several-year run.   Some of 'em are okay, though the earlier ones I think reveal that I was more or less a novice when I made them.  Most of them are just downright awesome, though.

Why make fake commercials, you ask?  Well, when I first started out in radio as a nervous young disc jockey on KBHU.FM (The Buzz), I learned really quick that it takes far more to make a good radio show than just the ability to talk into a microphone.  My college radio career sucked.  Really.  I'm not at all the "think on your feet" type.  So I started writing out my talksets.  My show still sucked, but now, I was able to blame the crappy hipster music they played on the station rather than my own shortcomings.  Isn't that nice?

Fast forward a year or two.  I was no longer in college, so I no longer had a college radio show.  I still loved audio production though, since I've got a ton of creativity and not really anything else to recommend me.  I appeared on another college radio show, the Creepy Sleepy Show, hosted by Dan Henry Patterson and W. Dohq Stodden, and helped with the conceptualization and production process.  And when I started my own podcast, I took a cue from their show, and made fake commercials to put into my own show, the Brookhaven Chronicles.  The rest, as they say, is history.  I enjoyed making them.  Now it's time for you to enjoy listening to them.

    TABLE OF CONTENTS:

    1. The first Underwriting Grant I sat down and tried to make on my own with no assistance from people who knew the art better was, to put it bluntly, quite terrible, so I have omitted it from this list. Trust me, I did you a favor by not including that one. The rest of them are here, though.
