As you may have noticed, this is a two part episode. This was because, when I originally posted it, Podpress wouldn't accept it all as one file. Not sure if the same restrictions apply right now, what with the lack of a podpress at the present time. But I decided to keep it as two parts for your downloading convenience. This is one of the best episodes of the show, in my opinion, so I hope you all enjoy this one.

Brookhaven Chronicles Episode #019 - The Vanishing Raspy Trick

This episode marks sort of a milestone in Brookhaven Chronicles history. At this particular point in time, DJ Raspy was growing completely disillusioned with things, not only at Brookhaven, but also in life in general, and decided that it would probably be better if he disappeared for a while. It's a good thing that Doggman and Willard were around to pick up the slack.

Why is this episode called "Grand Theft Brookhaven"? Well, it COULD be the fact that the lion's share of the music which appears in this episode is from the Grand Theft Auto series. (What can I say, I was playing GTA III at the time...) Yup...it COULD be that....but....naaaaaah.

Okay, I admit it. That IS the reason. I got lazy. I do that. Quite often. But that's fine. Because it's good music, nonetheless...

Yeah. I'm pretty anti-holidays. But my listeners aren't. So I figured I'd title this one "Season's Greetings". I suppose it's better than titling it "Bah Humbug". This one, obviously, came out around last Christmas. Not this past Christmas. But the Christmas before that. Yeah, I know, I don't put out shows nearly often enough. I suck. On with the show notes.

So, by this particular time, I had begun, dimly, to realize that, quite frankly, my talksets suck. That's probably not ever going to change. I'll admit freely that I have never really been good at thinking on the fly. That's not really the way my mind seems to work. I tend to do a lot better when I can sit down and plan out every eventuality. Yeah, I probably could have scripted out each and every talkset (the way I did on the Satan-tacular) and they would have sounded a lot better.

Video games play an important role in the life of the members of the Brookhaven staff...ummm...actually, Tommy the Silent rarely plays them. But damn it, DJ Raspy LOVES video games. So I guess video games play an important role in the life of ONE of the Brookhaven staff. At any rate, this episode is dedicated to all those wonderful men and women, from producer to programmer, from composer to voice-actor, who come up with all those wonderful games which totally help Raspy to keep his sanity. Because, as all the world knows, a sane Raspy is good news for everyone!

Why is this episode named what it is? I couldn't tell you. I don't know, myself. I guess I just ran out of stuff to name my episodes. But it's a good episode, as Brookhaven episodes go. Enjoy it, Peeps.

This episode is awesome. It's also legendary, as Brookhaven episodes go. I know I can't really prove it just now, since all my podpress stats got wiped out along with the old Brookhavenchronicles.com site. But before all that happened, this was one of the top three most downloaded episodes of the Brookhaven Chronicles ever. And probably the main reason for that was...you guessed it...Satan.

This episode marks the end of an era, specifically the end of the Brookhaven/Creepy Sleepy alliance in the Domain of Spearfish. This is because at this point, Creepy Sleepy relocated to New York, where DHP got a job with Talk Radio News. Nonetheless, Brookhaven has continued to enjoy a more or less amicable working relationship with Creepy Sleepy, despite the vast distances not only in miles, but also in content. DHP left some very big shoes to fill, and I can only hope that in some small way, Brookhaven has stepped up to the plate and risen to the challenge.
