Brookhaven Chronicles Episode 016 - Fun With Production

Listen:
So, by this particular time, I had begun, dimly, to realize that, quite frankly, my talksets suck. That's probably not ever going to change. I'll admit freely that I have never really been good at thinking on the fly. That's not really the way my mind seems to work. I tend to do a lot better when I can sit down and plan out every eventuality. Yeah, I probably could have scripted out each and every talkset (the way I did on the Satan-tacular) and they would have sounded a lot better. But quite frankly, considering the sheer amount of work that I was already putting into building Brookhaven, I saw no point in doubling my already staggering workload. I came up with a different solution, instead. I decided to make this episode a Production show. The less talking I do, and the more content I play, the better an episode of the Brookhaven Chronicles is. Good rule of thumb, there. Enjoy.
Show Notes:
1. Opening Saga, Pt. 3
- It is War! The Brookhaven Alliance regains control of the Domain of Spearfish, and with the help of General Lucifer, deliver a crushing defeat to the feared Imperial General, Calamitous!
2. Song #1 - "Elysium" - Portishead
- Album: Portishead (Go-Beat Records)
3. Sweeper - "I'm the Devil, Beeyatch! (alternate)"
- Lucifer still tells ya what's up, only with different music in the background...
4. Song #2 - "Make Way for a Panther" - Paris
- Album: Sleeping With the Enemy (Scarface)
5. Underwriting Grant - "Flaming Affair 2"
- Yup, Flaming Affair ain't going away. Until Emo does. In a perfect world, that would be next Monday...
6. Production - "Voicemail Vignettes #1: Willard is pissed!"
- Willard doesn't have very many kind words for DJ Raspy just now...
7. Song #3 - "Wicket Klowns" - Kottonmouth Kings feat. Insane Clown Posse
- Album: High Society (Suburban Noize)
8. Talkset #1
- Raspy talks. I suppose it was unavoidable...
9. Song #4 - "Can't Break Me" - Kam
- Album: Paris Presents: Hard Truth Soldiers vol. 1 (Guerilla Funk)
10. Production - "Voicemail Vignettes #2 - Joe Francis, Bill Collector"
- Joe Francis makes Raspy an offer he can't refuse...
11. Sweeper - "Creepy Porno Sweeper"
- Ugh. That's still gross. :p
12. Underwriting Grant - "Num Numbs"
- Who needs Geritol! Num Numbs has everything a decrepitly old person needs!
13. Production - "Voicemail Vignettes #3 - Doggman's in Trouble"
- Damn! What the hell! Is the entire southern half of LA surrounding Doggman, trying to shoot him? Geez!
14. Song #5 - "Forever Rachel (Club Mix)" - Well, folks, I have spent two f'n days trying to track down the person that arranged this one. The relevant info is NOT in the ID3 tags for my copy of this album, and nowhere on the internet has anyone had the foresight to list this one. (If I am wrong, please contact me immediately at brookhavenchronicles@gmail.com. I hate to put up stuff in the show notes that's missing vital info...)
- Album: Project Majestic Mix: Squaredance (KFSS Studios)
15. Closing Talkset
- Yay. Raspy blabbers on some more. Aren't you all so lucky?!
16. Production - "Verona Saga, Episode #3"
- Derek Verona talks about the development of the great Oligarchy which rules the world...
17. Song #6 - "Actraiser: LORD PROTEKTOR" - DJ Pretzel
- Courtesy of guess where...that's right...OCRemix.org!
18. Brookhaven Outro
- Brookhavenchronicles@gmail.com. Just like always.
19. Special Bonus Track - "Curtis Interview #5: Curtis got shot!"
- This one was originally made way back in the days when this show was actually IN the Brookhaven. However, the production quality of this one is kinda crappy, so I never aired it before now. But, crappy production quality aside, it's pretty funny. Curtis joins us for this one, as did another neighbor of ours, a Korean Gypsy named Kim Su. They tell the story of how Curtis got shot in the head, and showed up back here in town with blood all over his clothing, acting for all the world as if nothing serious had happened...not a bad way to kick off Season 3, I suppose...
